About Susanna

I’ve always been a looker.

Not in the conventional sense, necessarily, but someone who notices things.

People. Places. Light.

Photography gives me an excuse to keep looking.

The way afternoon light transforms an ordinary room. The unexpected geometry of a building. A fleeting expression, an interesting stranger, or something wonderfully out of place.

I have spent much of my life exploring the world, camera in hand. My creative path has been anything but linear. I spent more than a decade as a Hollywood set decorator, followed by years in interior design and real estate. Each chapter has sharpened my appreciation for composition, light, architecture, and the stories that people and places tell.

Along the way, I’ve raised two children, traveled to far-flung corners of the world, and collected more than a few adventures.

My photography moves between portraits, people, places, architecture, and the occasional happy accident. Sometimes the images are carefully considered and composed. Other times, something catches my eye and I simply have to stop.

I’m drawn to photographs that make you feel something, notice something you might have missed, or wonder what’s happening just outside the frame. There’s beauty in the grand and the ordinary, the perfectly arranged and the wonderfully imperfect.

Mostly, I believe the world becomes a more interesting place the more closely you look.

And I’m still looking
